Overview

Airport Vineyard is situated along the northwestern edge of SLC’s properties, bordering the Santa Lucia foothills of the Salinas Valley. The vineyard features young, healthy plantings along the Central Ave corridor, making it a prime example of SLC’s ongoing rebranding and growth for their Central Avenue holdings. This established young vineyard offers proven grape varieties and clones, cultivated on modern VSP trellising systems. Its rows are aligned northwest to southeast, following the natural slope of the Salinas Valley, which promotes excellent airflow and vine health.

What Makes This Vineyard Distinct

Airport was planted with consistency and uniformity in mind and with the goal to provide its buyers with quality winegrapes suitable for coastal wine programs. This vineyard offers 94 acres of young and healthy Chardonnay and Pinot Noir off Central Ave. All blocks are planted with proven clones on 1103P drought tolerant rootstock for maximum water conservation.

Water resources at Airport are supported by the natural recharge of the Salinas River system, where seasonal flows help replenish groundwater supplies and contribute to consistent, high quality irrigation water. This relationship between river and vineyard reinforces SLC’s long term approach to managing land and water responsibly.

Farming & Stewardship

Managed by Monterey Pacific with attention to site uniformity and fruit quality. SIP Certified for 2026. Airport Vineyard is planted on modern VSP trellising systems. Row orientation follows a northwest to southeast direction, encouraging airflow throughout the vineyard and supporting balanced vine growth. The vineyard is also sustainably certified under the SIP Certified program.
