Our Team

Brad Rice, Manager

Brad Rice has served as General Manager of Salinas Land Company for more than 20 years, guiding the company’s long-term approach to land and water stewardship. He oversees operations with a focus on integrity, sustainability, and strong relationships, drawing on both modern agricultural innovation and time-tested farming practices. In addition to his role at Salinas Land Company, Brad has served on multiple water boards, reflecting the company’s commitment to responsible water management and community involvement.

Jon Conatser, Assistant Manager

Jon Conatser serves as Assistant Manager at Salinas Land Company, supporting day-to-day operations across the company’s properties. A seventh-generation local with deep family ties to Salinas Land Company, Jon brings extensive farming experience and a deep respect for the land. His background and values strongly align with the company’s long-standing commitment to stewardship and integrity. He is actively involved in the local community, serving on the Salinas Valley Fair Board, the South Monterey County Fire Board, the Monterey County Water Resources Board, and the San Antonio Valley Historical Association. Guided by a belief in stewardship, integrity, and long-term responsibility, Jon is committed to preserving the land for future generations.

Tami Armstrong, Office Manager

Tami Armstrong serves as Office Manager for Salinas Land Company, bringing more than 35 years of experience in California’s wine industry. She has built strong, long-standing relationships with growers and wineries across the region and plays a key role in supporting Salinas Land Company’s operations and partnerships. T ami’s deep industry knowledge and steady presence reflect the company’s commitment to professionalism and trust.

Abe Hobson, C.C. Teague, and John Lagomarsino founded The Salinas Land Co. and California Orchard Co. back in 1917 and has been growing produce such as table grapes, apricots, walnuts, pink beans, sugar beets, peaches, wine grapes, and various row crops for over 100 years.

We partner with local companies that utilize our crops from super markets, local community stores, farmers markets, restaurants, and more. We offer the very best fresh produce around and we’re proud to be featured in so many local venues.

The California Orchard Company was founded alongside The Salinas Land Company to provide the variety of products specifically produced by orchard trees such as apples, peaches, nuts and more.
